The Ibex was a desirable prey for both Paleolithic and Mesolithic hunters who often established their settlements in areas frequented by the animals.
It was an easy, overconfident target for these early societies that hunted in groups.
Archaeologists have found substantial evidence of the Ibex hunts that have given us great insight into these activities that have been occurring since the end of the last Ice Age (10th millennium B.C.).
In the Boira Fusca cave, which is located in the same Orco Valley as the Homo et Ibex museum, a big settlement of Paleolithic and Mesolithic hunters was found that is surely one of the first of its kind in the area.
